Often if you have a cloth bag (particularly the type that cannot be washed) it can leave behind a musty smell. Even a washable cloth bag if not dried properly after washing, can leave behind a musty smell. To avoid this, you should replace it immediately or try to find a paper bag replacement. Often you can also remove or reduce a musty smell by cleaning / replacing the filters.
