Traditionally, video cameras require extra care and attention when used near water or on rainy days, as there is always a danger that the camera becomes wet. The camera can get sprayed or splashed, or even worse, fully submersed and render it totally useless.

Some of the Sanyo Cameras are waterproofed. Without concern for water spray, or water drops and snowflakes, these cameras can be close to the action and record the enthusiasm and adventures of people with active lifestyles. The camera can even be used in more unusual situations, such as while submersed, to film underwater. For example, during marine sports, including surfing and snookering, or winter sports, where there may be water spray, from such as skiing or snowboarding*2.The waterproof rating is known as ‘JIS IPX8’ which means the device is protected against the effects of continuous immersion in water.
